In September 2020, the Klimmer Group has acquired the traditional Burgau-based companies BSB Metallverformung GmbH + Co. Stanzwerk und BWB Behälter-Werk Burgau GmbH + Co. KG.
Klimmer is an owner-managed, medium-sized group of companies in the field of stamping and forming technology as well as cleaning and surface technology, with companies in Burgau and St. Georgen in the Black Forest. Taurus has been supporting the Klimmer Group in its growth since 2018 by searching for suitable target companies and approaching them until the successful completion of the acquisition.
Initially founded as a pure tool shop, the company founder Ernst Klimmer quickly developed the business into a contract manufacturer for stamped parts in the 1970s. At the end of the 70s, the company entered the automotive industry, for which sophisticated stamped and formed parts are still produced today. Today, Ernst Klimmer GmbH has specialized in fine blanking, the production of clamps in the exhaust area and sophisticated drawn parts with presses up to 1,000 tons of pressure force. Already with the acquisition of St. Georgen-based HMT in 2019, the service portfolio could be meaningfully supplemented and extended to new industries such as electromobility and medical technology.
The two companies BSB and BWB have now been acquired as part of a corporate succession. Both companies are internationally active with metal constructions in the field of stamping and forming technology as well as the production of oil separators and compressed air tanks. The companies perfectly extend the Klimmer portfolio in the field of drawing presses and forming machines, gas shielded welding, wet and powder coating, steam degreasing as well as state-of-the-art laser technology, such as cutting and welding.
